Currence: Hryvnia (UAH), 1€=43.13 UAH.
Driving license: You must have an International Driving Permit.
Visa – Passport: No visas are required for citizens of the following countries: citizens of EU, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Mongolia, Former USSR countries (except for Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia), Switzerland, Japan, Canada and United States. More info can be found here.
Border Crossings: Big lanes, huge delays, lot of papers and officers usually don’t speak English.
Insurance: Green cards are accepted. Third party insurance is compulsory.
Time Zone GMT +2
Banks: There are lots of ATMs in big cities. Cash cards and credit cards are also accepted (in big cities).
Fuel: Unleaded 95: 0,73€ (12/2020). Most gas stations accept credit cards. There are some gas stations in which you must prepay for the gas. In main roads, gas stations operate 24h a day.
Lights: Mandatory during daytime only in bad visibility condition.
Equipment: Drivers and passengers must wear crash helmets.
Maximum Allowed Blood Alcohol Level: 0,02%
Speed Limits: On urban areas 60 km/h (37 mph), outside urban areas 90 km/h (55 mph), on major roads 110 km/h (68mph) and on motorways 130 km/h (80mph). In some residential zones the limit is 20 km/h (13mph).
Fines: At present the police are not allowed to collect money for fines on the spot from a visitor. Fines must be paid within 15 days.
Tolls: The usage of all roads is free of charge.
